New Jersey Department of Education (DOE) is in full support of PreK expansion throughout our state. As part of the new funding for districts to open up PreK classrooms, the new cadre of Master teachers, kindergarten coaches and PIRT Specialists would be working with these new classrooms to support quality and developmentally and culturally appropriate practices in PreK classrooms. ECLI has provided a four-session training, two virtual reflective sessions, and supported the formation of a community of practice for a cohort of these new leaders beginning or transitioning into one of these three roles in 2018. ECLI leaders are excited to meet a second cohort of leaders in Fall 2019 for another series of professional learning experiences. The content of the training includes culturally responsive leadership, coaching, reflective practice and adult learning.
